The Quiet Path offers compositions and improvisations by harpist Paul Baker in keys corresponding to the energy centers of the body (chakras). Four of these songs weave together the resonance of the Celtic harp with the sonority of the cello (featuring cellist Peggy Baldwin) in the key related to the heart chakra to evoke the heart energy. The sound of these resonant melodies binds, instructs and guides the unfolding of all the other chakras with the heart as the central guiding theme. The music is played at a slow steady pulse to lead the brain into the alpha state where the mind, body and spirit relax, reorganize and rejuvenate. NO...Says Celtic Harp, But No Way!

It's really misleading when the CD says "Celtic Harp" and then it turns out to be mostly violins and/or other stringed instruments in the foreground! The Celtic Harp just happens to be there. Just listen to it and you'll see my point. When it says "Celtic Harp," I want it to be Celtic Harp and that's it! I don't want any oceans, or violins, or someone doing gargling -- just the harp, ma'am. If you really want the harp, get the harp and nothing else. If you want something that's relaxing and has more than a harp in it, this might be for you. But like I said, if it says "Celtic Harp" in huge words, forget the accompaniment!

This CD is the most soothing music I've ever heard. I bought it to play when I go to bed at night as I have great difficulty sleeping. I can just lay there & listen to it & it relaxes me so much, especially the 4 tracks where the harp is accompanied by the most beautiful cello. I love it so much that when a good friend of mine had a birthday coming up, I ordered one for her too, as she also has problems falling asleep, and she's into meditation and Reiki. I play this CD all night long; it even puts my dog to sleep instantly. LOL!!!
